Synopsis: While Ray is worried about Nora, he is suddenly faced with his own problem that forces him to do the unthinkable. Nate and Zari are stuck in an awkward limbo, so Sara devises a plan to send them on an easy mission together. Meanwhile, Charlie and Rory are approached with a lucrative offer that could upend their lives.
Review: Romance is the name of the game in this week’s legends as Sara tries to give Zari and Nate a little bit of a push to bring them together.
Following up on events from last week. Ray is now dealing with the fact that he is now sharing his body with Neron, who is trying to make Ray do terrible things in order to get him to submit and allow him to completely take control.
Elsewhere, Sara is doing her best to play matchmaker to Zari and Nate, who are both very much attracted to each other, but neither one is making the first move. To try and encourage things. Sara sends them both on a mission to retrieve a golden egg from a meeting of the Adventure Society in the 1930s. While there Zari and Nate meet legendary explorer Gordon Gilchrist.
Meanwhile, Rory’s career as a romance novelist takes a turn when he is invited to be a guest at Romanticon. In order to fulfill this obligation, he allows Charlie to pose as his pen name. But neither of them count of Mona being a superfan.
Brandon Routh puts in a great performance this week as we see Ray struggle against the demonic Neron who is trying to take over his body. In recent shows, Routh seems to have been underused and hasn’t really used his Atom suit in a while either. So am glad that the writers have given Routh something to do.
I liked how the actor shows the physical struggle of fighting a demonic possession.
This was a fun episode. I loved all the Romanticon stuff where Rory was trying to coach Charlie in the finer points of playing his writing identity. I also thought it hilarious that they got rumbled by Mona.
Also funny were the Indiana Jones references made as a part of Nate and Zari’s mission. A factor, which also played right on through to the two finally hooking up toward the close of the episode.
Overall. This was a very fun Legends episode, which leaves a few plot threads open to pick up on in weeks to come. And the fact that Nora has now been recruited into the Borough is great character progression.
