Synopsis: Ivy picks her next target, leading Gordon and Lucious back to an old friend, as Selina tries to take matters into her own hands. Sofia wants full control of Gotham and turns to Lee about the state of the Narrows. Meanwhile, Bruce tries to make amends with Alfred, and Nygma visits Arkham.
Review: The plot thickens as Ivy continues her vendetta against all those who she feels have wronged her and plant life everywhere and her next target is none other than Bullock and then a gathering of wealthy people at a Wayne Foundation dinner.
This is an episode where we see friendships tested and some friendships are broken. Bruce Wayne tries to make amends and get Alfred to come back into his life, but he must prove himself to his former Butler and father figure before the old man returns. It’s a test that Bruce ultimately passes by proving that he can embrace both the darkness and the light within himself and be the hero that Gotham needs. But he is not quite the Batman just yet.
Elsewhere Sofia has Lee between a rock and a hard place and wants 30% of all profits from the Narrows regardless of whether they are legal or not. It’s a rotten deal and one that Lee is unable to deliver on and not even Ed Nygma can help her. He has other issues. Namely a letter from Penguin, which is designed help the Riddler persona overrise that of Ed Nygma. A clever plan and one that could have some interesting possibilities. The question is. How long will it be before Riddler and Penguin betray each other again?
We also see the breakdown of Selina Kyle’s friendship with Ivy Pepper. The fact that Ivy has resorted to multiple murders with her new found powers is something that has seriously rocked the old friendship and it is something that neither Ivy or Selina can come back from. The scene in which both realize this is heartbreaking and brilliantly acted by both Peyton List as Ivy and Camren Bicondova as Selina. Ivy has crossed a line that Selina can’t.
Overall. This was another solid episode with some fantastic moments. I look forward to seeing how these events play out in the next batch of episodes.
