Synopsis: A clue leads Danny and Lexi to a castle where the Nazis may have hidden Cleopatra’s sarcophagus; Fabi rescues Dr. Castillo’s kidnapped assistant; Hardwick reveals information to Fabi and Gwen about others who are searching for Cleopatra.
Review: Danny and Lexi get closer to finding Cleopatra’s sarcophagus, but they are not alone in their discovery.
The Story
Fabi is sent to Tripoli based on a clue, which could potentially lead to the sarcophagus of Mark Anthony, but he arrives too late and finds Dr. Castillo’s assistant instead.
Meanwhile, Danny and Lexi head to a Castle in Bavaria, which exhibits a lot of antiquities that were stolen by the Nazis in the second world war. While there Lexi uses her skills as a thief to help uncover a mysterious code, which they ask Chuck to help them with.
The code eventually leads them to an old Panzer Tank depot, which the Germans used as a secret hiding place for Gold bullion and ancient antiquities. But Danny and Lexi are not the first people to find it because Faruk is already there.
The Acting
Sofia Pernas continues to sizzle as Lexi who provides many fun moments with her skill set as a thief and the actresses gift for accents. Including the deliberately cartoonish German one that Danny comments on.
Meanwhile, which get some insight into Simon Hardwick thanks to a brief appearance by James Callis who seems to be channeling a little of his old Baltar role from Battlestar Galactica, which is kind of typecasting him, but it will be interesting to see what side of things Simon Hardwick falls on.
Overall
This is a really solid episode, which builds onto the story by adding a lot of mythology concerning the various antiquities and secret societies involved. Which includes a society within Nazi Germany of Jesuit origin, which tried to protect a lot of the antiquities from getting into the wrong hands.
The episode closes out with an absolutely wonderful and old school kind of cliffhanger in which Danny appears to be trapped and Lexi has gotten herself kidnapped. Which can only mean that they are getting a little too close to their goals? A telling clue is the fact that Faruk and Lexi have a chance encounter.
I look forward to seeing how all of this will play out in future episodes.
