Guillermo del Toro has walked away as director of the DC Comic film ‘Justice League Dark,’ which is also known as ‘Dark Universe’.

The ‘Pacific Rim’ filmmaker has exited the project as it moves from Warner Bros to sister company New Line Cinema, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film was to be made up of some of DCs more supernatural characters and the line up is to include John Constantine, The Swamp Thing, Zatanna and the Demon, many of whom traditionally had a place on the Vertigo imprint.

The Vertigo films – including Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Sandman adaptation – have all been moved to New Line.

Del Toro is currently working on the much anticipated sequel to ‘Pacific Rim’, which was a hit for him in the summer of 2013.
