Chris Hemsworth In Negotiations For Allan Quatermain Project

Chris Hemsworth, who is best known for his role of ‘Thor’ in the Marvel movie universe is in negotiations to play Allan Quatermain from the classic pulp series ‘King Solomon’s Mines’

The hope is to have a series of movies based on the classic H. Rider Haggard books.

Haggard wrote a total of 14 books in the series. Although the films script by Barnett Brettler, isn’t yet set up at a studio, it’s said to be “white hot,” with attention from Sony.

The Quatermain character is an English Big Game Hunter who lives a life of high adventure and seems to spend much of his time in Africa.

He famously appeared as a lead character in Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s acclaimed ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ comic book series, and was portrayed by Sean Connery in the considerably less acclaimed 2003 film adaptation. Richard Chamberlain and Patrick Swayze have both also played the character in live action.
