Synopsis: Thunderbird 5 picks up an unusual radiation spike from a remote corner of Africa. Scott and Virgil take Thunderbird 1 and 2 to investigate.
Review: Much like last weeks show. This episode takes a small group of characters and throws them straight into danger.
This week it is the turn of Virgil and Scott who pilot Thunderbirds 1 and 3 respectively.
The pair set course for Africa to find out why John up in Thunderbird 5 is picking up unusually high levels of radiation. Luckily for us it is nothing to do with our Governments plans for more nuclear power stations, but it is a cautionary tale nonetheless.
Turns out that the Hood has commissioned a young woman to retrieve some uranium for his plans, but thankfully these plans are thwarted by Scott and Virgil who manage to talk some sense into her during their bold rescue.
The CGI is improving week by week on this show and the simple approach to stories and choosing to use only a handful of characters at a time as apposed to using the entire cast is a really good approach.
The inside of the nuclear plan that Scott has to navigate during his rescue looked really convincing and there was a real sense of danger to the whole environment.
The story wasn’t exactly the most original you will see, but it was very well executed.
Also the lady that the pair rescue provided a pretty good accent.
