Synopsis: In Through Many Miles/Of Tricks and Trials, The coven faces their first perilous trial on The Witches’ Road.

The Story

Now on the Witches Road, the members of the coven naturally start to bicker about what their next move should be until one of them spot a clearing in the woods and a house. Given that there does not seem to be anywhere else to go for miles around. The coven decides to take shelter in the house, which seems to be rather hospitable at first with its promise of Free Wine and food. However, things soon turn sour when they all realize the Wine has been poisoned. When they realize that Agatha has not taken any wine the witches gang up on her to make her drink some because the trial will not work if one member of the coven doesn’t drink any wine.

Acting

Sasheer Zamata shines in her role of Jennifer Kale who seems to be the witch in the Coven who is challenging Agatha more than anyone else and has somewhat of a leadership role in the group. The scenes between Jennifer and the young teen that has come along with Agatha was really good and gave us some potential backstory about Agatha who apparently had a son.

Debra Jo Rupp provides a fair bit of comic relief as the Earth Witch Mrs. Hart who is one of the few characters to have come over to this series from WandaVision. In fact, she has a scene within the episode where she has a hallucination about Wanda, which was a nice little call back to that show.

Overall

A pretty solid episode that sees us through a lot of character development for the various members of Agatha’s coven as they face the first of many challenges that they will encounter on the Witches Road.
