Synopsis: The Cavalry Has Arrived and Omega and the Batch battle Imperial forces for their freedom.
The Story
Picking up the story from last week’s show. Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair have managed to find their way to Tantis Base, but have to figure out how to infiltrate it now that Rampart has been captured. Meanwhile on Tantis Echo and Dr. Karr continue in their efforts to reach Omega and the other kids, but things take a dramatic turn when they recognize that Omega has broken out by herself and has released the Zillo Beast in order to create a diversion to help Hunter and the group.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hemlock makes all efforts to thwart the Bad Batch and sets a trap to capture them, but he underestimates how strong their loyalty is to each other. What he sees as a weakness turns out to be their greatest strength.
Voice Acting
Dee Bradley Baker and Michelle Ang put in great performances for this series finale as they make us really care for their characters. There are a few moments where it looks like we could lose Wrecker, but thankfully that is all they are. Moments.
Keisha Castle-Hughes puts in a solid performance as Dr. Karr and has some great scenes with Echo. The best one is the scene at the close of the episode when they have all returned to Pabu and realize they are now truly free.
Overall
With a run time of over 40 minutes The Cavalry Has ArrivedĀ makes for a really exciting series finale that ends in a way that Omega’s story can get picked up again in future spin-offs. The sequence where we see Omega release the Zillo Beast is brilliantly done and only one or a few key moments in this finale. The final moment where we see a grown-up Omega talking to Hunter before she joins the Rebels is a wonderful moment to end things on.
