“That’s All Folks”, what an absolutely iconic phrase! One of the main reasons for May The Verse Be With You to exist is fun. So, what better way than to write a tribute to the Looney Tunes! And, the desire to do so was inspired by the recent movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021). If you’ve yet to see it then spoiler alert for our review of the latest Space Jam movie. If you’ve seen it, then check it out!
Though only short
they’re so funny,
whether Daffy,
or Bugs Bunny
A great many
immortal lines
from yellow birds
and half-bare swines
Tweety swore blind
the truth was that
“I tawt a taw taw
a puddy-tat”
And, “what’s up Doc?”,
that well-known phrase,
so easily
a laugh could raise
The carton ends,
we want more jokes;
but Porky Pig
says “that’s all folks”

The latest incarnation of the Looney Tunes showed just how wonderful they still are. Furthermore, they’re still really cool, too. It was really great seeing them alongside basketball superstar, Lebron James. They may be old, but the “toons” can still pull a crowd. Consequently, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them again in another Space Jam movie in the future! Until next week, that’s all folks . . .
