Djimon Hounsou has apparently entered talks to play Merlin in ‘Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur’, which is a new take on the King Arthur Legend that will be directed by Guy Richie.
The actor is in line to replace Idris Elba in the role of Merlin, reports Variety.
Idris Elba left the project when it became apparent that he was not going to be able to fit it into his schedule.
‘Sons Of Anarchy’ star Charlie Hunnam will play King Arthur and Astrid Berges-Frisbey will play Queen Guinevere.
Jude Law is also reported to be in talks for the movie.
Hounsou featured in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. He will appear in the upcoming ‘Fast & Furious 7′ and Warner Bros’ 2016 ‘Tarzan’ film.
‘Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur’ will be released on July 22, 2016.
