50th Trek Anniversary Memorial for Anton Yelchin

At the recent Las Vegas Star Trek Convention a large bannister paying tribute to the Late Anton Yelchin was signed by thousands of fans will be gifted to the actor's family.

This past weekend saw the 50th Anniversary Star trek Convention held in Las Vegas and put on by Creation Entertainment. At the convention a rather large memorial banner was dedicated to the late Anton Yelchin who portrayed Ensign Pavel Checkov in the rebooted Star trek franchise.

The actor recently passed away after a freak accident at his California home which has left the Star trek community in a state of mourning, just as the latest installment of the rebooted franchise, Star Trek: Beyond is in theaters through out the world.

The banner’s memorial read:

It’s empty on Earth. Alone,

Without you. While you,

You’re flying. And to you,

Stars are giving tenderness.

Attendees of the recent Creation Star Trek convention in Las Vegas were quite happy to see and sign the banner which was displayed prominently within the convention exhibit space. The banner was signed by fans and celebrities alike with even Whoopi Goldberg adding her name in quite respect to the missing but not forgotten larger than life personalities memorial.

One of the convention’s promoters, Adam Malin had this to say on a recent social media post in which the tribute banner was shared, “Our beautiful tribute to Anton signed by thousands of attendees. We will gift it to his parents.

While the convention itself was a huge success, Anton’s presence was still felt and remembered by all in attendance, with this gesture being heart felt and well deserved. SciFiPulse’s thoughts and prayers go out to both Anton’s family and the greater Star Trek community. He will be missed by all.

May your memory Live Long and Prosper Anton!
