First images from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy

New GOTG images and the beginning of something special this way comes from James Gunn!

Guardians of the Galaxy fans are surely happy to have some images to feast upon which feature members of the cast of the next GOTG film straight from the set; Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax) as well as the director’s brother Sean Gunn, (on-set Rocket Raccoon), and of course the director James Gunn.

While the images released are not of the cast in full costume and neither do they give anything away from the upcoming GOTG story line, they do at least satisfy the inner geek in all of us with the knowledge that we are all that much closer to the eventual 2017 release of the next installment of Starlord’s adventures through the galaxy along with rest of his misfit and fellow Guardians team mates.

Although it does in fact seem as if Chris Pratt’s recent Instagram post in which he shows the actual Awesome Mix Vol. 2 tape is one of his alter ego Starlord, in costume holding his beloved tape recorder and legendary Earth music. Pratt had this to say about it,

“Feels good to be back in action on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2!!! I can’t even tell you how excited I am. Ok I’ll try. I’m ecstatic. I’m bursting with joy. I’m overwhelmed by feelings of enthusiasm, joy, gratitude, conviviality, camaraderie, elation, exhilaration. I just used an online thesaurus for these words. I suggest trying that. That way instead of saying ‘I’m very excited’ say, ‘I’m exhilarated.’ Never too late to learn words. The pen is mightier than the sword. I never got that. I could whoop someone’s ass if I had a sword and they only had a pen. WAIT!!! Now I get it. Cause you could use a giant pen with a dagger on one end? And a gun on the other end? No? Whatever. Point is… Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Is going to be the greatest spectacle film of all time. This is not…. bear with me… using online thesaurus….. Hyperbole! This is not hyperbole!”

While we have also learned that in fact both Starlord’s father and the film’s main villain have in fact been cast, we have no confirmation as to who will be playing either of these characters. Although there are rumors which indicate that an additional cast member and new teammate has been cast, which would be Pom Klementieff  as Mantis.

Gunn does also confirm that Tyler Bates is in fact scoring the next GOTG movie, having already turned in the first ‘Awesome’ cues. The director also seemed to confirm that ‘Aint No Mountain’ is the first song on the upcoming Awesome Mix Vol. 2 along with ‘I Want You Back’ as the second song on the mix, which it would seem ain’t to shabby of a beginning to an old tape of Awesome Earth songs.

Needless to say, this tickle of all Guardians of the Galaxy things to come was a wonderful teaser with hopefully much more in store for all of us hungry fans very soon Mr. Gunn!?
