After the reveals in Tuesday night’s ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ we know the series has upped in awesomeness, and Marvel Cinematic Universe will both never be the same. In fact, the MCU continues on a very exciting, Inhuman pace!
Doctor Strange
It’s official. Benedict Cumberbatch will play ‘Doctor Strange’ in the 2016 film.
The film, directed by Scott Derrickson with Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay, will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
Marvel’s Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit theaters November 4, 2016.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
Blair Underwood (‘LA Law,’ ‘The Event,’ ‘Ironside’) has been cast as Melinda May’s ex-husband in the second half of Season 2, which returns in March in the US. Underwood will play Dr. Andrew Garner.
Agent Carter
A new video clip from Agent Carter has been released! The limited-run series premieres Tuesday, January 6, at 8 p.m. ET in the US.
Marvel has also released synopses of the first two episodes of the series.
In the episode “Now is Not the End,” Peggy is contacted by old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”) when he is framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons and can trust no one else. To help Peggy clear Stark’s name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis, be at her beck and call–whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison…or worse.
In the episode “Bridge and Tunnel,” Howard Stark’s deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson?
Jessica Jones
Krysten Ritter has been cast as Jessica Jones in the new Netflix series. The former superhero Jewel, Knightress, and Power Woman, whose powers include flight and super-strength, hangs up her cape to open a detective agency. Jessica has connections to other Marvel characters and organizations, including Peter Parker/Spider-Man, the Avengers, and S.H.I.E.L.D.
