Synopsis: The Ripper is revealed! But this revelation is just the tip of the iceberg. And now that Holden and Fogg know the truth, their lives are in danger. In this series finale, the unlikely partners find themselves in the midst of a spider’s web from which there appears to be no escape . . .
The Story
Holden and Fogg, now a couple, continue their investigation into the murder of Kenneth Fitzpatrick. But when Jesse receives a call from America pushing him to speed things up, it becomes clear that something isn’t right. That suspicion is confirmed when Fogg is summoned to Scotland Yard and given a dressing down by his superiors, who aren’t too happy about how closely he’s been working with an American FBI agent.
Things take a darker turn when Fogg is called into a meeting with Detective Peel, who reveals that it was Fitzpatrick’s own father who ordered the hit—and that both he and Holden were set up to fail from the start. Then comes the real shock: Peel admits he’s the Ripper copycat.
With that revelation, everything changes. Holden and Fogg find themselves persona non grata in their respective countries, punished for refusing to be part of a cover-up. But all is not lost—there’s still hope, and a place for them elsewhere in Europe, where their commitment to truth and justice might still matter.
Artwork
Alessandro Oliveri delivers some outstanding work in this final issue. The panels where Fogg confronts Peel near the end are especially strong—there’s a real sense of atmosphere as the two face off in the graveyard. The fight feels tense and cinematic, thanks to the moody artwork and clever panel layout. The final scenes, where Fogg and Holden board the train to begin their new life, are beautifully drawn. I especially loved the design and look of the train—it really captured a sense of hopeful departure and quiet resolve.
Overall
This final issue wraps things up nicely while still leaving the door open for future stories. I loved the twist at the end—it gives Fogg and Holden a meaningful chance to keep fighting the good fight. Hopefully, Steve Orlando and his team will get the opportunity to explore more stories in this wonderfully complex and imaginative world.
