Commentary
We here at SciFi Pulse wish our readers and listers a happy Halloween. Our spooky thank you present this year is a period ghost story.
Thomas Carnacki was created by William Hope Hodgson. A series of stories featuring the character were published between 1910 and 1912.
They were published together as Carnacki, the Ghost-Finder in 1913. Today, we present a reading of the third story in the collection entitled “The Whistling Room.”
This tale has a wonderful atmosphere and world-building. Hodgson invented ghost hunting gadgets and esoteric occult texts.
He also built the story around a truly tragic and unsettling spirit. Indeed, this story contains one of the best period supernatural manifestations ever!
Please enjoy! Again, thank you.
