Synopsis: Things come to a conclusion in Purple Rain as the Titans rally to the call that is put out by Barbara Gordon. Plans to stop Crane from his murderous actions get put into place and get modified on the fly.
The Story
Having gotten out of her prison cell in last week’s episode. Barbara has now accessed Oracle and places a call out to all the Titans. She gets some additional help from her personal assistant who turns out to be an A.R.G.U.S. Agent who was sent to Gotham to help.

Barbara Gordon learns that her assistant and second in command is an agent from A.R.G.U.S.
With the band back together Dick Grayson proceeds to give out orders but changes them when he realizes that looking for the bombs that have been planted around Gotham will be playing into Crane’s hands. So a new plan is hatched which sees Gar and Tim Drake working with Dick to break into Wayne Manor. They get a little inside help from Jason Todd who is looking to redeem himself. Additional help also comes from Barbara Gordon who uses her computer skills to help them trick Crane.
While the boys are at Wayne Manor. Starfire, Blackstar, Raven set about combining their powers to use the Lazarus Pit to resurrect Cranes bomb victims from their untimely deaths. The effects of chucking the contents of the pit into the atmosphere result in Purple Rain. Hence the episode’s catchy title. Sadly there is no partying like its 1999. But I am sure the writers will get to that if they get a fourth season.
The Acting
We get a lot of solid acting performances in this episode. All the principal cast played their parts well. I particularly enjoyed Jay Lycurgo’s performance as Tim Drake. The look of total awe on his face when he enters Wayne Manor is exactly how most fans would act. That said I’ve enjoyed his character throughout this series as it’s a nice counterbalance to the more broody and cynical characters.

Raven, Starfire, and Blackfire help the revived citizens get back on their feet while posing in the Purple Rain.
I also enjoyed the performances from Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, and Damaris Lewis in their respective roles as Starfire, Raven, and Blackfire combine their powers. It was great seeing these three powerful female characters come together and have their kick-ass moment on the show.
Overall
I really enjoyed this season finale and how it resolved the plot threads and introduced Tim Drake while giving Jason Todd his exit story. The actors all brought their A – Games and we got a nice mix of action and drama as the Titans took Gotham back from the crazed control of Jonathan Crane. However, Crane’s ultimate fate at the end is both dark and poetic as Raven gets to give him a dose of his own medicine.
Overall. A solid finale, which gave all the key characters something to do while also providing a few fun twists and turns along the way.
