Synopsis: With help from Kora on the inside, Sibyl and Nathanial continue their fight to shape a dark new future for S.H.I.E.L.D., managing to stay one step ahead of the agents along the way.
The Story
This week sees Kora paying a visit to S.H.I.E.L.D. on a mission to try and make them see things her way. She even tries to talk Daisy around by seeking to have a sisterly chat, but Daisy is not buying it. It seems that S.H.I.E.L.D. is at a standstill given that Sibyl is able to just about predict any tactic from their playbook. However, Daisy has a playbook of her own that Sibyl’s A.I. intelligence is not privy too.
The Acting
Dianne Doan does some fantastic work this week as Kora. We get some brilliant scenes between Doan and Ming-Na Wen who as Agent May is sent to try and rile Kora to see what information she will let slip, but its the scene where May has to play good cop and use her newfound empathic powers to try and show Kora that Nathaniel Malick is using her that really packs a punch.
We also get a cute scene between Henry Simmons and Enver Gjokaj where Mack tells Sousa that Daisy is into him. The moment where Sousa jokes about Daisy’s hero name of Quake is a hoot and builds to a cute moment toward the end of the episode.
Overall
A pretty solid episode, which sees things escalate and get more serious for S.H.I.E.L.D. who are seriously outgunned by Kora, and Nathaniel’s connection to the Chronicom A.I. Sibyl. The moment at the end where we see three massive Chronicom ships come into Earth’s orbit and begin dishing out some serious damage was pretty epic.
Overall. A good solid episode, which fulfilled its job of getting to the endpoint and setting things up for the final two episodes, which will no doubt have a few surprises for us.
