The Story
Masquerade and the new American Spirit Imani set a plan into action to defeat P:andora and give some of their fellow heroes a chance at redemption.
In order to defeat P:andora. The team must prevent him from getting access to his box and the team sets out to do just that.
The Artwork
Throughout all issues of this arc, the artwork from Sergio Davila has been top-draw and continues to be in this final issue.
The panels depicting P:andora’s final battle with the Project Superpowers is epic and I especially enjoyed how Davila drew The American Spirit and made use of the American flag.
There’s a really nicely drawn panel on page 5 where we see Masquerade offering comfort to Devil, who has recently been freed from P:andora’s mind control and is shaken up by the fact that he was made to kill his friend Green Lama. The caring expression on Masquerades masked face says it all and thankfully Devil gets a chance at redemption.
Overall
This is a great ending to what has been an epic run and my introduction to the Project Superpowers Universe. I pretty much fell in love with the characters and really enjoyed Imani’s journey to becoming the new American Spirit.
Rob Williams writing throughout the course of this book has been absolutely banging. I really liked his gift for dialogue and banter among the characters and P:andora made for a wonderful villain with those iconic villain type speeches that we all know and love. You know. When the villain tells everybody what the plan is because he or she is so supremely confident of success.
I loved how the issue was bookended in the same way that it began. With Masquerade giving an interview to the press, but this time with a more hopeful tone.
