While it hasn’t made it to UK television yet. It would seem that ‘Wynonna Earp’ has gone down a treat with audiences in the US. So much so that Syfy Channel has decided to give the supernatural western series a second season.
Based on the comic books by Beau Smith and published through IDW. ‘Wynonna Earp’ centres on a descendent of the legendary law man Wyatt Earp. The television series sees Wynonna return to here home town after being away. As she returns she finds herself not being able to fight her destiny, which is to fend off the revenants, the resurrected souls of the criminals who were taken down at one time by her great-grandfather.
The series, which stars Melanie Scrofano as the Earp is made in Canada and is aimed at the same audience that watched ‘Lost Girl’. In that it presents empowered female characters that kick ass.
The series also stars Shamier Anderson as Agent Dolls and Tim Rozon as Doc Holiday.
The show will return for a 10 episode run in 2017, giving you plenty of time to watch the 13 episodes of season one when the series airs here in the UK from July 29 on Spike.
