Walker Stalker Con invades Orlando Florida

Fans of AMC's hit zombie show were recently treated to a horde of Walking Dead celebrities!

Central Florida was just invaded by hordes of die-hard zombie fans as Walker Stalker Con recently took place in Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center. Held over one weekend on both Saturday and Sunday (June 27th & 28th), fans of The Walking Dead were treated to a huge number of the show’s celebrities from the AMC number one zombie hit show!

Among the more popular Walking Dead celebrities in attendance for the Walker Stalker Con weekend were Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), whose line had throngs of eager fans. But waiting to meet the popular zombie killer was well worth it as he was polite, funny, charming and genuinely seemed pleased to meet his fans.

In truth it seemed that every Walking Dead celebrity at the show was quite nice, accommodating and very approachable such as Steven Yeun (Glenn) David Morrissey (The Governor), Scott Wilson (Herschel), and Lennie James (Morgan) along with many of the show’s current cast members such as, Ross Marquand (Aaron), Jordan Woods-Robinson (Eric), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham).

Walker Stalker Con also had great vendors who for the most part had items of amazing horror quality and likewise there were absolutely great cosplayers walking around the convention, with one Rick Grimes cosplayer who had fans doing double takes and asking the fan next to them if it was Abraham Lincoln or not. Walker Stalker Con also had some truly amazing artists selling their Sci-Fi and Horror related satires & illustrations, who I was quite taken with such as  Jon Pinto, Charles Thurston & J.P. Perez. Loved your work gentlemen, keep up the great work!!!

The panels offered by Walker Stalker Con were also quite fun with great insights into the celebrities as well as great behind the scenes stories from the set of The Walking Dead. Another quite fun part of the show was the Apocalypse Zombie Experience, which was a great zombie simulation of the apocalypse, as con goers were given an M-16 and instructions to make their way through a maze of the undead. What was perhaps most scary was how quickly your ammunition, breath, energy and luck would run out, so I must admit to being quite content to watching the zombie apocalypse on television from the comfort of my couch and the safety of the television screen.

The convention also had some very memorable and touching moments such as when current Alexandria safe zone resident Enid, as portrayed by Katelyn Nacon, sang her own songs to the gathered panel fans in memory of her grandmother. Chad Coleman (Tyreese) and Melissa Ponzio (Karren) also took the time to give some love to a handicapped fan at the end of their panel and their sincerity was quite apparent. Lastly I was honored to speak with Jason Woods Robinson who plays Eric on the Walking Dead, who spoke to his support of the recent Supreme Court decision supporting gay marriage.

All in all Walker Stalker Con was a great place and setting to meet your favorite Walking Dead celebrities with over forty of the show’s stars in attendance. But the convention even had celebrity guests from Gotham such as David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), as well as actors from Bitten, Breaking Bad, Lost, Face Off and even Ming Chen from Comic Book Men.
