June 23, 2022, (Missoula, MT) — Do you love coffee and hate doom?
Then Oneshi Press just brewed up something totally new, totally different, and totally eldritch that you’re going to love.
Announcing TarMucks: Cthulhu Corporate Coffee & Comic, a campaign combining the indie press’s famously high-quality comics with merch from the world of its stories’ metaverse.
(The Kickstarter for this project can be found here.)
From June 23 to July 21, Kickstarter backers can opt in to a world of eldritch horror/comedy with a 16-page mini-comic about its in-world corporate coffee chain—TarMucks: Origins, written by Lynsey G and Jayel Draco, illustrated by Michel Abstracto, and lettered by Cardinal Rae.
About TarMucks: Cthulhu Corporate Coffee
Facing the day without a strong cup of coffee is a terror beyond all description…and so are the unimaginable eldritch horrors that Cthulhu and the Great Old Ones would visit upon this world if they awoke from their aeons-long slumber.
TarMucks Corporate Coffee, a fictional coffee conglomerate featured in several of Oneshi Press’s ongoing series (Tracy Queen, PACK, Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter, and The Zombie Adoption Program), is here to ensure that neither of these nightmare hellscapes comes to pass.
From June 23 to July 21, 2022, backers on Kickstarter help save the world from eldritch horror in three ways:
- Discovering how coffee keeps the Great Old Ones asleep in a 16-page, full-color TarMucks mini-comic, TarMucks: Origins. Written by Lynsey G and Jayel Draco, illustrated by Michel Abstracto, and lettered by Cardinal Rae, this short comic is printed in America on sustainably harvested and recycled paper using non-toxic inks.
- Keeping themselves awake with their very own taste of TarMucks’ strongest direct-trade brew—Get Java! These beans are ordered directly from farmers who use sustainable practices, then roasted to perfection.
- Keeping their go-juice piping hot and saving the world all at once with a BPA-free, biodegradable, dishwasher-safe, reusable TarMucks travel mug!

A Tree for Every Backer
But the campaign doesn’t stop at eco-friendly products and packaging! TarMucks is serious about saving the world, both from the ravages of ancient creatures from outside known dimensions…and from plastic pollution and climate change.
“We’re proud to announce our official partnership with one of our favorite ecological organizations: One Tree Planted,” says Oneshi Press co-founder and TarMucks: Origins co-writer Lynsey G. “With their help, we are going to plant a tree for every one of our backers on this campaign! Together, we’ll plant a whole forest to help reduce carbon pollution and curb climate change!”
And Oneshi Press aims to recycle all plastic packaging from TarMucks coffee samples with the help of TerraCycle, an organization that reduces waste by recycling and reusing difficult materials like flexible plastic packaging.
