Synopsis: The Point of Stillness. A place the Time Lords are forbidden to go. It cannot be drawn, it cannot be whispered, it cannot be thought. And yet somebody is very keen to reach it.

Deep within the TARDIS, something unusual is happening. One of the ship’s oldest secrets is about to be revealed, and once it is, nothing will ever be the same again.
As danger materialises deep within the ship, spectral strangers lurk in the corridors and bizarre events flood the rooms, someone long-forgotten is ready to reappear. The Doctor and Leela are soon to discover that their home isn’t quite the safe stronghold they thought.

Review: Louise Jameson (Leela) and Nigel Fairs (Three) co-wrote this story, an imagination becoming realty narrative. While that theme is a chestnut in genre storytelling, this variation contributed to Doctor Who mythology by introducing us to another marvellously off-kilter renegade, Time Lady Marianna (Stephanie Cole). This story also answered a question that Whovians have had from the beginning — from whom did the Doctor originally “borrow” the Tardis when he took her from the repair yard?

Jameson and Fairs displayed complete understanding of the characters and the overall Whoverse. I not only enjoyed their script and performances, but I also appreciated their discussions about the writing process in the behind the scenes extras. Finally, this is the first Fourth Doctor audio I’ve listened to, and it was wonderful to hear Tom Baker, my Doctor, in a full-length story again!

I give “The Abandoned” full marks.
