"I've got back into the sci-fi thing, I kind of adore it," director Ridley Scott revealed

Much much awaited sequel to ‘Prometheus’ is to go before cameras in January of 2016.

The sequel to the ‘Alien’ prequel film was announced as in development early last year.

Now it has a definite start date, which will be great news for those that loved the film.

“I’ve got back into the sci-fi thing, I kind of adore it,” director Ridley Scott told Total Film in a new interview.

Prometheus 2 will be written by ‘Green Lantern’ screenwriter Michael Green. However, the sequel will not have the fan favourite Xenomorphs.

Scott also gave his view on upcoming sci-fi epic ‘Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens’.

Star Wars is a juggernaut,” he says. “Good, bad or indifferent. And with that director [JJ Abrams], it ain’t gonna be indifferent, it’s gonna be really interesting.”

‘Prometheus’ stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace will reprise their roles as David the android and Elizabeth Shaw in Prometheus 2.

Scott is also producing a new Alien film, to be directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9).
