August 10, 2020 (Missoula, MT): The campaign to fund printing of Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter, Act 1 has relaunched on Kickstarter! It’s sleeker, smarter, and reanimated with all the unholy strength of the undead!
Mr. Guy was just some dude getting by in the gig economy like most of us, when one day some decomposing jerk bit him, and now he’s in the middle of the full-on zombie apocalypse, trying to figure out what comes next. If he wants to save himself from a cursed, haunted arm and the promise of turning into a shambling corpse, he might just have to save the world. How tedious. Written by Oneshi Press co-founder Jayel Draco and illustrated by Draco, Walter Ostlie (Shiver Bureau, Metalshark Bro), Diana Camero (Guts), Jacey Chase (Far Away, Junction), Sonne, and Sophia Murphy, Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter, Act 1 is a zom-com adventure of shambling proportions.
The first 24 hours of the Kickstarter will be the most exciting, with 1st-day rewards for backers like unique zombies designed by Mr. Guy creator Jayel Draco for the first five backers, as well as digital downloads of Zee Brothers: Zombie Exterminators, a novel by Oneshi Press Comics Anthology alumnus Grivante. Other rewards include the Origins Anthology—Oneshi Press’s newest collection of short comics from diverse creators—along with obscene amounts off other indie comics, a how-to-draw zine, gloriously ugly Mr. Guy–branded socks, art prints and original sketches from Mr. Guy artists, zombified portraits of backers, and oodles more! Stretch goals include a full-color, perfect-bound print run of the Origins Anthology, featuring over two dozen indie creators from around the world.
“When we didn’t make our goal on the first iteration of this campaign, we realized that if Mr. Guy has taught us anything, it’s that if you don’t solve the zombie apocalypse on your first try, you just get back up and try again!” says Mr. Guy creator Jayel Draco. “We’re not going to let the 35 creators behind Mr. Guy and the Origins Anthology down, so we redesigned our campaign for maximum effect, and this time, we’re going to demolish our goal!”
The reanimated Kickstarter campaign runs from August 10 till September 10, and seeks to raise $5,000. Visit the Kickstarter page to support the campaign!
