‘The Odd Doc’ is of course Stephen Strange — a.k.a Doctor Strange! This week’s poem is based on the Benedict Cumberbatch version, within the MCU. However, readers might well ask which MCU version, with the onset of the Multiverse! It will become clear as you read on that we mean the version of Stephen Strange from Doctor Strange (2016). It tell his story in that film, and of what he became . . .
The Odd Doc
He started life as Stephen Strange,
Then underwent a MASSIVE change
The sacred place showed Strange so much,
and taught him he was out of touch
A lesson learned would help him grow:
his arrogance would have to go . . .
There is, he saw, much more than could
at first be clearly understood
Then the surgeon extraordinaire
came to know Wong, who has no hair!
And then he spoke, of all he’d seen;
his astral-self surprised Christine
Poor Christine found herself in shock,
now Stephen Strange was the odd doc!
Fans of the MCU super sorcerer can read our review of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (2022). The latest installment of the MCU is out now, and has plenty of surprises! Another character who plays a big part in that film is Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a Scarlet Witch (Elisabeth Olsen). She had her own poem A Scarlet Spell, early last year. We’ll see you next Friday dear readers. Take care!
