‘Stood Tall’ celebrates the wonderful “minions”. Their latest adventure is at cinemas now. You can read our review of Minions: Rise of Gru (2022) now. Steve Carell and others are back to give a memorable performance. But this poem is about the character of the Minions themselves. The wonderful little beings have a massive amount of heart . . .
Of many minions here’s few we know:
There’s Kevin, Stuart, Bob, now Otto too . . .
They’re mostly happy, shouting “bello”,
lovable beings of yellow and blue
Their mission was to find themselves a boss
Then, they would feel like life had meaning
Without one they argue and all get cross;
being ruled for them was not demeaning
They tried so hard, but still couldn’t find one
But once they met Gru, things were really clear:
he’d very soon become their one true don;
So, their little hearts Gru’s always near
Though in stature the minions are small,
their bravery means you’ll find them stood tall!

It’s likely that we’ll see more fantastic minions in the future — at least we hope that’s the case! There’s certainly plenty of mileage left for story-telling, that’s for sure. The writers certainly have a lot of fun and get very creative. It’s impossible not to love the minions, who appeal to children and adults! We’ll see you all next Friday, dear readers!
