‘Don’t tell Dumbledore’, was few frequently muttered by Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane). This week’s poem is a tribute to the loveable character, wonderfully portrayed by Robbie Coltrane. Sadly, the actor passed away last week. He’ll be sorely missed by Harry Potter fans and fans generally of the late actor. He left a fantastic legacy in a great career . . .
Don’t Tell Dumbledore
A massive frame,
but bigger heart;
poor Hagrid told
you are not smart . . .
As wizard banned,
and wand broken,
Hagrid’s magic
is unspoken
But certain spells
are still so loud,
when cast from one
to goodness vowed
The children love
Hagrid’s own ways,
that lights up lives
and brightens days
And times that he
breaks magic law
Hagrid says ‘don’t
tell Dumledore!’

Last year we published a feature on the significance of the Harry Potter film franchise. There wasn’t much specifically about Hagrid, but the films just wouldn’t be the same without him. Both May the Verse Be with You and SciFiPulse wish to express our condolences to the family and friends of Robbie Coltrane, as well as his vast hordes of fans . . .
Do feel free, dear readers, to post comments on your favourite Hagrid scenes/moments!
