Sometimes, heroes have to “dig deep”. This has a special (and puntastic) meaning for Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford). Over the Easter break May The Verse Be With You watched the classic Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). So, we felt a tribute was due . . . , which is probably a little overdue. Without a doubt, Indy deserves his place in the archives! And, what a great pic by our resident artist, too!
Oh, how we love your hat, your whip, your gun;
the uniform you wear through all the fun
Outside the classroom you are at your best,
adventuring with zeal and with zest
You blast and leap, and use your mighty wits,
but still get scared whilst trapped in huge snake pits
Though, your bravery always gets you through;
and moral compass always keeps you true
A sword fight with you ends in their regret;
your bullets easily snuff out such threat!
Danger is never far from where you are —
you’re archaeologies first superstar!
Prepared to do whatever it may take,
as long as it does not involve a snake!
