Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton) recently made his return to the Star Trek universe. Our feature, “Wil Wheaton’s Return to Star Trek”, gave our input into it. The short version is that we love Wesley, and are huge fans of Wil Wheaton. Consequently, we felt that the “super-ensign” deserved a spot in the May The Verse Be With You hall of fame. So, here it is, a tribute to the awesome character . . .
Crusher-ing It
The Doctor’s son,
a superstar;
on his journey,
traveled so far
From lowly rank,
acting Ensign,
to then one day
finding his kin
But before he
went far away,
his super brain
would save the day
The Captain said
“shut up Wesley”,
dismissing him
mistakenly

There were many times that Wesley saved the day. His advanced intelligence helped protect the crew of The Enterprise D. Ultimately, Wesley went off with the Traveller, deciding against a future in Starfleet. However, it’s clear that he remained a firm friend to the crew of the Next Generation. We hope we haven’t seen the last of Wesley in Star Trek! See you all next Friday readers, for some more fun!
