Fans of both the hit Netflix show “Daredevil” and “The Walking Dead” will be thrilled to hear that Jon Bernthal, who portrayed ‘Shane’ in Robert Kirkman’s hit AMC zombie apocalypse show, as well as a back country tank jockey in the amazing WW II motion picture, “Fury“, has indeed signed on to play ‘Frank Castle’, a.k.a. ‘The Punisher’ in season 2 of “Daredevil“.
While few details have yet emerged depicting the scope of Bernthal’s role on the highly rated Netflix super hero drama, we can be sure that both Daredevil and the Punisher will not only be at odds over Frank Castle’s way of dispensing his version of street justice, but also that Bernthal’s role will very likely be a reoccurring one.
“Daredevil” fans will of course be thrilled with Charlie Cox obviously returning to star as Matt Murdock, blind lawyer by day and masked vigilante by night, along with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin.
Netflix’s “Daredevil” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios and there is as of yet, no date announced for the premier of “Daredevil’s” second season. The next questions fans are sure to want answered will be when and who will portray Daredevil’s steamy love interest, Elektra?
