LOS ANGELES – Originally from Iowa and now based in L.A., Joe Clark’s and Backrow Studios’ latest film is such a hit that it is already an award winner; its most recent win being the 2020 Culver City Film Festival for the category of best feature film score.
Alta Vista is a coming-of-age film written and directed by filmmaker Joe Clarke, and it follows screenwriter struggles to cope with the loss of his father, while getting himself entangled in Hollywood’s underworld.
As with all of Clarke’s films, Alta Vista is a story that is deeply emotionally connected to Clarke.
The idea for this film first developed when filmmaker Joe Clarke moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the University of Iowa. Clarke began to imagine what it would be like for him live in a Hollywood production. a rep explained.
“Alta Vista is our first LA production, and I’m excited for people to see it and connect,” Clarke explained. “It’s a story about grief, pain, Hollywood, and optimism.”
