In Review: Titans – Koriand’r

As Kory's memories come flooding back, she discovers her true mission, regarding Rachel.

Synopsis: As Kory’s memories come flooding back, she discovers her true mission, regarding Rachel. While Dick and Donna discover Kory’s alien origins, Rachel uses her powers to save Gar.

Review: This episode pretty much opens up and reveals a lot about the core characters, but also provides a cool moment for Wonder Girl.

The Story

Having helped Kory to get her memories back. Rachel winds up in a battle for her life as Kory’s real mission becomes all too clear. Thankfully Dick and Donna get there in the nick of time and save Rachel from Kory. When Kory awakes after being put down by Donna she rushes off with all her memories flooding back. Dick and Donna follow her and eventually wind up at her spaceship.

Back at the house things are getting a little eery and Gar is beginning to get sick due to the effects of the house. Rachel’s mother winds up being a bit more than the average mum and tells Rachel to summon her father to help heal Gar.

Back on board Kory’s spaceship. Dick, Donna, and Kory figure things out and rush back to the house having realized that Rachel could be in danger from her mother.

The Acting

Anna Diop puts in a great performance this week as Kory begins to figure out her true purpose, but also feels somewhat conflicted. The scene she shares with Donna and Dick on the spaceship is fraught with tension and the eventual reveal about Rachel’s mother from the ancient texts on board Kory’s ship are well built up too.

Overall

This was a pretty good episode, but it did have a few pacing issues that dragged it out a little, but it is worth sticking with. The moment where Donna uses her rope to subdue Kory and save Rachel near the start is a really nice moment. Since coming to the show last week. Donna has become a really interesting character and much like Hawk and Dove. She is a character from Dick’s past that I hope we see a little more of in the weeks to come.

Overall. A pretty solid episode which leaves things on a cliffhanger for for next week.
