Synopsis: Amberle travels to Wing Hove to seek advice from her great-aunt, unaware that Wil and Allanon and a Fury from the Forbidden are chasing after her.

Review: This second episode of ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ really opens things up and fleshes some of the characters out further as well as giving us some more mythology.

The episode opens up with Allanon the last druid finding Wil and taking him under his wing. While travelling the pair strike up what can only be described as a fun relationship in which Wil is working his butt off to get to know Allanon who is a man of few words that only opens his mouth when he has something to teach the young half elf half human.

Austin Butler who plays Wil has struck up a pretty nice and fun chemistry with Manu Bennett who is giving us a really cool and mysterious portrayal of Allanon the worlds last remaining human druid who is said to be over 350 years old.

In mean Amberle has had a meeting with the thief  Eretria who we saw steal the elf stones from Wil in last weeks episode. The theft of which are a set back for Allanon’s plans to hold back the demons that are threatening the future of the four kingdoms.

We also get to see some more revealed about Eratria who it would seem is out to prove herself to her father who is the head of a guild of thieves. Thankfully for now his demands have been satiated with the elf stones.

This second part of the opening story was much stronger and had me on the edge of my seat wanting to learn more about this fantasy world and its characters. The episode also ended in a cliffhander which saw Wil and Allanon catch up with Amberle, but at what cost will the meeting be?
