In Review: The Shannara Chronicles – Breakline

Wil searches for Amerle and Eretria with the help of a new friend.

Synopsis: Wil searches for Amerle and Eretria with the help of a new friend. The girls bond on the run from human hunters who cut off and collect Elves ears.

Review: Wil and the girls are seperated after their fall and Wil sets out to find the girls and makes a new friend along the way.

Meanwhile back at the palace the changeling posing as the King has concocted a plan to try and kill off the two remaining heirs to the throne, but he does not count on Allanon’s incredible druid healing capability to come back from the brink of death.

Much like last week we had a lot going on in this episode and its nice that the pace of the story telling has picked up a little since the first episode. Amberle and Eretria start to bond and by the looks of things they could well prove to be a force to be reckoned with once they establish their mutual ground.

Wil meets an injured Elf who has had his ear cut off by the savage human hunters and gains his help in finding the girls.

And back at the Palace the changeling that has been posing as Eventine sends Ander and Arion to kill the Dagda Mor.

Poppy Drayton and Ivana Baquero work really well together in establishing the bonds of friendship between Amberle and Eratria. It was fun to watch as they figured out that despite their differences they actually have more in common with each other.

Austin Butler puts in a good turn and works well with Stuart Shacklock who plays the wounded elf Perk.

Effects wise we see some cool CGI work in the form of a flying winged beast, which Perk is able to pilot. Hopefully we’ll get to see Perk return in future episodes because he is kind of a likeable character
