Synopsis: With Miss Fury missing in action and the case of the Silver Shrike’s murder unraveling around them, the Green Hornet and Kato find their mutual resentments boiling over into a no-holds-barred brawl!
Will the two crime-fighting partners come to their senses in time to save the city? Or is this truly the end for one of the most iconic partnerships in comic book history?
The Story
Having come to blows in the last issue, Green Hornet and Kato continue their fight in an effort to settle their differences.
Meanwhile, Miss Fury finally tracks down Silver Shrike—only to discover her former mentor has gone rogue. Disillusioned with the world of masked heroes, Shrike is disappointed in both Miss Fury and Green Hornet, and has embarked on a personal path of vengeance. Fury is horrified and bewildered by his sudden change of course and tries to stop him—only to be ambushed by her old nemesis, Baroness Erica Von Kampf, who gives Shrike the chance to escape.
Back on the streets, Hornet and Kato learn of Shrike’s betrayal, and Hornet sets off in pursuit.
Artwork
Federico Sorressa delivers some stunning art in this issue. I loved the introduction of Baroness Erica Von Kampf—Sorressa nails that 1940s Nazi henchwoman vibe, making it the perfect fit for the character. We also get a fantastic single-page splash of Green Hornet, Kato, and Miss Fury together, just before Hornet takes off after Shrike.
But the real highlight comes in the final pages, where Green Hornet lurks in the shadows, closing in on Silver Shrike—setting up next month’s explosive finale beautifully.
Overall
This penultimate issue does a fantastic job setting the stage for next month’s finale, where we’ll likely see Kato and Fury face off against Baroness Erica Von Kampf and her army, while Green Hornet goes head-to-head with Silver Shrike. I’m eager to see how it all plays out—can’t wait to read the conclusion!
