In Review: The Flash – Girls Night Out

Having received an ominous threat from her old boss, Amunet, Caitlin fears that her past time as Killer Frost may be back to haunt her.

Synopsis: Having received an ominous threat from her old boss, Amunet, Caitlin fears that her past time as Killer Frost may be back to haunt her. Felicity comes to Central City to help the girls celebrate Iris’s bachelorette party, while Cisco, Joe and the guys take Barry out for a night on the town.

Review: It’s party time in Central City, but it seems the Girls wind up going above and beyond when it comes to partying. When Amunet sends one of her goons to bring back Caitlin things really start to get interesting as Killer Frost enters the scene.

Meanwhile, Barry is having a Bachelor party and in order to allow him to celebrate properly. Cisco has whipped up a concoction that allows Bary to get very, very drunk. But if that ain’t enough. Their party plans get hijacked by Ralph DIbny aka Elongated Man who takes them to a strip club. From that point on things go from bad to worse as the boys end their night in police custody after a bar brawl.

The girls, however, have no such luck. In order to help out Caitlin Iris, Felicity and Cicele take on Amunet black, but as ever things do not go exactly to plan.

It seems that The Flash has yet again given us another silly episode where there is a little too much in the way of knockabout humour and not so much in the way of drama. It wasn’t all bad though. Katee Sackhoff managed to own her scenes as Amunet Black and proved to be a worthy adversary for Killer Frost.

The Barry being drunk was taken a little too far. The writers need to learn the right balance between doing something because it is funny and not overdoing it. This was overdoing it.

There was a fun little Easter Egg at the beginning of the episode in which Caitlin tries to book herself a flight through Ferries Airlines. For those that know their comic books. Ferries Air is a company that is taken from the Green Lantern comics. Now if only we could have a Green Lantern crossover with Flash and Arrow.

Overall. Silliness aside. This was a pretty average by the numbers episode, not great but not bad either. I think we need something a little more serious for next week. I’m getting a little sick of all the popcorn.
