Season 2

Description: SEASON 2 OF THE HIT DISNEY+ SERIES IS HERE! GROGU AND DIN DJARIN return in CHAPTER 9: THE MARSHAL! The Mandalorian is drawn to the Outer Rim in search of others of his kind. Following rumors of another Mandalorian, he instead comes face-to-face with MARSHAL COBB VANTH wearing a very familiar armor! Mando and Grogu have stepped into a situation bigger than they realize!

The Story

While searching for other Mandalorians to help him with his quest. Din Djarin returns to Tatooine and heads to the mining town of Mos Pelgo. As he arrives he meets Marshal Cobb Vanth who is wearing stolen Mandalorian armor. Din Djarin orders Vanth to hand the armor over and a deal is struck. Cobb Vanth agrees to hand over the armor if Din Djarin helps him take out a Krayt Dragon that has been attacking Moss Pelgo and eating their livestock.  However, killing the Dragon may prove harder than Vanth thinks.

The Artwork

Georges Jeanty does a solid job with the art and captures some of the best moments of this first season 2 episode brilliantly. Although the character likenesses are a bit off when it comes to them looking identical to the actors. The artist does a brilliant job of capturing the action and the overall mood of the story. My favorite moment is at the beginning of the book where Din Djarin goes to watch some fighters while getting information about Moss Pelgo and the Mandalorian that resides there.  I also enjoyed the panels where we see Mando and Cobb Vanth take on the Dragon.

Rodney Barnes who worked on the adaptation for season one picks up from where he left off. The writer does a solid job of retelling the story but doesn’t really add too much to it in regards to any extra nuances. As such it is very much by the numbers. The real treat of any comic book adaptation of a TV show or a Movie is seeing what the artist does with it. And George Jeanty goes all out with his pencil and gives us a really stunning visual recap of the action beats that we saw in the series.

Overall. I enjoyed this and look forward to seeing what Barnes and Jeanty do with the next chapter.
