Synopsis: Tracked back to their hidden base by a mysterious Imperial agent, the rebels must trust some seemingly dangerous native creatures, who are more than meets the eye.
Review: When Grand Admiral Thane orders an agent to track down the rebels. They are all but doomed but manage to make a hasty escape with help from the Loth Wolf, which helped Ezra in last weeks episode. While this is happening Hera manages to blast through the Imperial blockade and get the new hyperdrive and Defender Tie Fighter plans back to Yavin 4.
Having followed the Loth Wolf the Ezra and the group find that they have traveled to the other side of the planet, which is not as heavily guarded. We also learn that Kanan has another name and has a strong connection to the Loth Wolf, which also happens to be strongly connected to the force.
This episode sets things up beautifully for ‘Crawler Commanders’, which sees Ezra and the team taking over a mining crawler in order to make use of its antenna so that they can contact Here and the rebel base on Yavin.
Back on Yavin. Hera has successfully delivered her intelligence and the top brass are hesitant about launching an attack on Lothal. Mom Mothma does her best, but it seems to need stronger words from a soldier and not the soft-spoken words of a diplomat.
Back on Lothal Ezra and his team run into some imperial trouble, but are able to bluff their way throughout with a little help from an old friend.
This was another solid couple of episodes, which do much to move the story forward. The first of the two episodes was the weakest in terms of action but does manage to reveal some interesting information about Kanan. I enjoyed the sequence where they were following the Loth Wolve’s through the cavernous mountains, but also enjoyed much of the action, which took place in the second episode where the team takes over the crawler. The reluctance of the Rebel diplomats to send aid to Lothal and take on the Empire is highly consistent with events that we saw in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’. Hopefully, we’ll see some characters from that movie pop up towards the end of this series.
