Synopsis: A team of Imperial-led BOUNTY HUNTERS and scavengers arrive on the Forest Moon of Endor searching for a secret cache of Imperial weaponry! Are they prepared to face off against the battle-ready Ewoks who took down so many of their ranks? Who is the mysterious new warrior Ewok returning to Bright Tree village, and what is their connection to WICKET W. WARRICK?

The Story

Set shortly after the events seen in Return of the Jedi. This new Ewok story sees the villagers debating what they should do in the inevitable event of Endor getting more visitors from other worlds. In the middle of this meeting of the Ewoks, we see the return of one of their greatest warriors who shares a familial connection to Wicket. While Wicket is out laying traps with this legendary Warrior. A landing party arrives in the village claiming to come in peace. However, their true mission is to retrieve a hidden cache of weapons left there by the Empire for Grand Moff  Adelhard who refuses to accept the Empire’s defeat.

The Artwork

Alvaro Lopez and  Laura Braga do a brilliant job of capturing the look and feel of Endor. Their character drawings for the Ewoks are brilliantly realized and they capture the Wickets likeness brilliantly. But the more impressive achievement of this story is the introduction of the various different creatures that live on the planet. There’s a fantastic sequence in the book where we see the Empires landing party, which includes legendary Bounty Hunters 4-LOM and Zuckuss. They are led by an imperial officer who is looking to prove himself to Moff Adelhard.

Overall

Steve Orlando puts together a wonderful story here that not only delves into the culture of the Ewoks and the other creatures and legends of their moon planet. But it also ties in with events and characters that we have been introduced to in the new Star Wars: Battle of Jakku series without making it essential reading for that series.

Overall. If you are a fan of the Ewoks from Return of the Jedi and want to learn more about them. Then this book is for you.

Someone on the old KFM message boards had a signature that said “The square root of a Wookiee is an Ewok.” 😎

Always thought Ewok Burgers were a better snack than a mean. Have to look out for them furballs though.

      Thanks.

I think the second issue is out in the next week or two. Although now that am buying comics raw and picking them up fortnightly I may be running a little behind.
