GRIEVOUS

Synopsis: GRIEVOUS ATTACKS! – A DARK DROIDS TIE-IN! ZUCKUSS, 4-LOM and their fellow bounty hunters face a deadly droid ambush! VALANCE’s life hangs in the balance! What role has GENERAL GRIEVOUS played in the chaos roiling the galaxy?

The Story

Having taken Valance to the Droid Haven to be repaired by Kligson in the last issue. T’onga and her crew wait impatiently for Kligson to fix Valance and hopefully restore his memories, but it seems that Kligson has a much darker agenda in play. Elsewhere 4-Lom and Zuckuss learn that Klingson’s droids and the Haven is not all it is cracked up to be.

In the past. We flashback to the Clone Wars and a time when Kligson was not in control of the droids at the Haven. Having invited Grievous to the Haven in hopes of brokering a deal. The Droids of Haven fight to defend their home against the General and his droid army.

The Artwork

Davide Tinto does a great job with the artwork. The micro-expressions of T’onga and her crew waiting for Valance pretty much say it all, which eliminates the need for a little of the dialogue that you’d expect in this kind of waiting situation. I also loved the battle sequence of 4-Lom and Zuckuss having to retreat from a massive group of killer droids as well as spider droids.

Overall

This continues to be an enthralling story that continues to keep me guessing. Although it was revealed to some extent that Kligson was a bit of a crook in the last issue. This issue pretty much confirms it. I loved the fact that Kligson was speaking to T’onga and her crew all along via having remotely taken operation of the leader of the Droid Haven. I also enjoyed seeing the backstory to how that all happened.
