Synopsis: This month in Bounty Hunters A deadly mission on the edge of a black hole! Desperate for credits, T’onga and the bounty hunters take a dangerous job for the Pykes. Is Tasu Leech ready to take on…the Kanjiklub? Valance makes a decision that will change everything…

The Story

Still reeling from her defeat at the hands of the Lady Lady Qi’ra in the last issue. T’onga and her Bounty Hunters are left with few options. Either take a job from Qi’ra and The Crimson Dawn or do a job for the Pykes. It’s a job that will present a difficult choice for Tasu Leech as he will be going up against his own people the Kanjiklub who are out to assassinate the Pyke gangster that T’onga and the crew have been hired to protect.

Aside from Tasu dealing with his issues. T’onga and Losha find that they are both still dealing somewhat with the aftermath of their last mission, which very nearly permanently separated them.

Meanwhile, Valance is becoming more and more enmeshed with The Empire, who he started out working for somewhat reluctantly.

The Artwork

We hey some great cover art this month from  Giuseppe Camuncoli who gives us a great image of a rather lonely-looking T’onga in the foreground with Tasu in the background. The interior artwork from Paolo Villanelli is absolutely fantastic. It has a somewhat painted quality to it and leaps out off the page. The action beats are brilliantly drawn. And the colors are absolutely brilliant. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the art gives us next month. The final page presents a fantastic cliffhanger.

Overall

Bounty Hunters continues to be one of my favorite comics from Marvel’s extended Star Wars universe. I really like the way in which we have newer characters in Losha and T’onga blended with classic Star Wars Bounty Hunters like Zuckuss, 4-Elom and of course Bossk. I also liked how this story gives us a little more character development for Tasu.

As to Valance’s storyline. I am starting to get a little curious as to where that will go. As I am getting a little bored of him being with the Empire as he was more of an interesting character when he was on the fringes of space.

Overall a solid issue.
