Synopsis: In ‘THE GREAT HUNT OF MALASTARE’. BOSSK awakens to find himself as the hunted instead of the hunter on the forest planet of MALASTARE. But who is the mysterious figure behind the hunting party stalking the infamous TRANDOSHAN?
Picking up from the last issue. Valance has caught up with Dengar and after a bit of a tussle. A deal is struck and Dengar agrees to help Valance find Han Solo. But to do so. They’ll first have to go up against Boba Fett.
Elsewhere, on the planet Malastare Bossk the infamous trandoshan Bounty Hunter finds himself being hunted. A gathering of wealthy hunters are targeting him and a few people who have found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. Also at this gathering is Jabba’s right-hand man Bib Fortuna who is very interested in the leader of this band of wealthy hunters.
Paolo Villanelli produces some brilliant pages for this issue. The panels in which Bossk is taking down the various hunters are fantastically graphic. I loved seeing Bossk opening his maw as he fights with teeth and a knife against hunters who are armed with far superior weapons. The character drawings are brilliant. I particularly liked how the artist interprets Bossk and manages to capture the violence and cold-heartedness of him. The drawing of Bib Fortuna was also really good. Especially when close up to his face when he is trying to manipulate the leader of the banking clan.
This is a fantastic issue. I love how Ethan Sacks captured the cold-blooded nature of Bossk. Having him use the other people who were being hunted as bait was fantastic. The dialogue between Bossk and those around him was awesome. I could actually hear Bossk’s voice in my head when I was reading. I’m looking forward to seeing how this story progresses. Especially given that Valance and Dengar are probably going to cross paths with Bossk as they seek Boba Fett.
