Synopsis: THE WOOKIEE ALWAYS WINS! Hot on the trail of BOBA FETT, VALANCE and DENGAR run into a rather large obstacle—the mighty CHEWBACCA! Will T’ONGA escape the trap set by a mysterious organization out to upend the underworld? And who is the figure in the shadows hunting them all?!

The Story

The plot thickens. While Valance and Dengar are on Nar Shadda they run into a very pissed of Chewbacca who is still holding a grudge against Dengar after a previous encounter with the bounty hunter. Dengar is not in agreement with Valance’s aggressive methods of questioning his sources. Indeed, Valance is very much using the beat-em-up first and ask questions later approach, which is not yielding good results. However, when Chewbacca arrives on the scene all their disagreements come to a pause while chewie beats the snot out of them. Finally after some time. Valance manages to talk Chewie down from finishing him off. Chewie pretty much tells Valance to stay out of his way until needed. Otherwise, he’ll rip Valance’s cybernetic arms off and bit him to death with them.

As Chewie leaves. Valance and Dengar follow up on another lead and learn that The Crimson Dawn managed to steal Han Solo from Boba Fett. But how is it that this old crime syndicate is back after so many years in the shadows.

The Artwork

Paolo Villanelli does some great work on this issue. He manages to capture the atmosphere of the cantina on Nar Shaddaa brilliantly. Especially when we see the bar fight between Chewie and Valance. I loved the close-up work of the various character’s eyes as they were in the fight. Especially, Dengar who as soon as he sees Chewie knows that he is in trouble.

This crossover event is developing quite nicely. We get a great twist at the end when it comes to the revelations about Crimson Dawn, but who is running them. I can’t wait to read more when the Star Wars ongoing comic releases later this month. In the meantime. It is probably good to keep in mind that it is never a good idea to annoy a Wookiee.
