Synopsis: In The Streets of Mos Espa Boba Fett hires some new help and finds himself having to face two very different threats.
Picking up from where last week left off. Boba Fett continues to grapple with the street-level politics of Moss Espa. When he grants an audience with Lortha Peel. A water-monger from the worker’s district. He finds out that Peel has been exploiting the unemployed workforce by charging too much for water. So to put an end to it. Boba Fett hires the gang that has been stealing from Peel and then orders the water-monger to lower his prices or takes his business elsewhere.
After having sorted one potentially incendiary issue out. Boba rests but soon finds himself under attack from Krrsantan who has been sent by the Hutts to kill him. Soon enough Boba Fett’s new employees earn their crush when they help him battle Krrsantan. Shortly after the fight, he gets a visit from the Hutt’s who tell him that they no longer have interest in Moss Espa and are leaving the planet. When Boba Fett asks why. The Hutts reveal that Moss Espa is already in the hands of another crime syndicate that is working with the Mayor.
Temuera Morrison continues to own it as Boba Fett while Ming-Na Wen continues to impress as his cool-headed right hand. Stephen Root puts in a brief but nice performance as the greedy water-monger Lortha Peel while Danny Trejo makes his first of what am sure will be a few appearances as Boba Fett’s new Rancor Keeper.
This is somewhat of an improvement over previous weeks as the story begins to unravel thanks to the fact that the flashback sequences from the previous two weeks have more or less filled in the backstory.
The episode had some nice action beats. I particularly enjoyed the speeder bike chase where Boba Fett’s new employees chase after the Mayors somewhat cowardly aid.
It is now very much down to business as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand prepare to defend their claim on the town of Moss Espa. But it looks like they’re likely to have their hands full in doing so as they are up against the Pyke Crime Syndicate.
