The Story

Having barely escaped from Adelhard’s ship, the rebels regroup to lick their wounds. Meanwhile, on the surface of a distant planet, Luke Skywalker and a new ally set out to confront a member of the Acolyte Cult aiding Adelhard. Their mission takes an unexpected turn when they receive help from none other than Doctor Aphra.

At the same time, Grand Moff Adelhard works to uncover the traitor who assisted the rebels, all while attempting to forge alliances with other remnants of the Empire.

Back at the Rebel base, Leia receives a distressing call from Kashyyyk: her husband, Han Solo, and her friend Chewbacca have gone missing.

The Artwork

Stefano Raffaele and Jethro Morales bring some fantastic artwork to this book. I especially enjoyed the introduction of Doctor Aphra at the end and can’t wait to see how she aids the rebels in their fight.

The background artwork on Chandrila, where the rebels are based, is equally impressive. One standout panel at the beginning shows Leia gazing out at the planet’s mountainous landscape while her internal dialogue recaps recent events—it’s beautifully done.

Overall

Another solid chapter in this 12-part series, building toward one of the most epic Star Wars battles mentioned in the latter part of the Skywalker trilogy, but not yet fully explored.

Alex Segura has crafted an intriguing character in Grand Moff Adelhard, who looks like he might become another fan favorite. Speaking of which, I really enjoyed the introduction of Doctor Aphra in this story and can’t wait to see how she’ll play a role in the overall narrative.
