Trek

Synopsis: This month on Star Trek. After a surprise encounter with the adrenaline-jacked Red Path during their infiltration of the hidden Cardassian facility, the Theseus’ crew must recover the Orb of Destruction—and make it out alive—if they’re to put a stop to Kahless’ bloody reign. But with Captain Sisko standing trial on Cardassia Prime with Lieutenant Data by his side, can the crew succeed when they are divided?

The Story

Picking up from where the last issue left off. Sisko is on trial for his life on Cardassia and it isn’t looking good. This issue picks up with Sisko praying to the prophets for guidance, but they seemingly aren’t hearing him. However, a Pah Wraith spirit of the late Gul Dukat has been listening and takes the opportunity to taunt his old enemy.

Elsewhere, Dr. Crusher and the Theseus away team have infiltrated a Cardassian facility and come up against a group of Cardassian and Romulan Cultists who have been supporting Khahless and The Red Path. Outgunned and outflanked. Crusher has little choice but to either call in reinforcements or withdraw. Whatever she chooses to do. The mission is to take the Bajoran Orb of creation from these cultists.

The Artwork

Mike Feehan pulls off some good work for this issue. I really loved the sequence of panels where we see the Pah Wraith spirit of Gul Dukat taunting Sisko as the artist managed to capture Dukats likeness brilliantly and the use of a red wash to make Dukat look more intimidating was a great choice. We also get some great work when we see Dr. Crusher lead her team into Battle with the Cardassian Cultists.

Overall

This was a solid issue that features some great new Star Trek moments for us to enjoy. I particularly liked seeing Gul Dukat make a return. Even in his Pah Wraith Spirit form. The issue also ends on a brilliant cliffhanger.
