Synopsis: The meeting of the gods at the Pleroma continues as Captain Sisko confronts his celestial mother in the very fabric of space and time! Why was he called home to help in the fight against Kahless, only to be forbidden from attempting to protect the universe from the brutal aftermath? Meanwhile, Beverly Crusher boldly outmaneuvers the gods for an emotional reunion, and Ensign Lily Sato, torn between her best friend and feelings of disillusionment with Starfleet, contemplates a decision that could change everything with the push of a button…
The Story
Sisko’s conversation with the Gods at Pleroma gets interrupted by the Wormhole prophet who appears as his mother. The prophets want Sisko to return home as the view his actions with regards to the gods and the recent conflict between Kahless and the gods to be destructive. The prophet tries to illustrate their point to Captain Sisko but is not getting through to him. Meanwhile, Beverly Crusher manages to get to Wesley’s office and enjoys a bit of a reunion with him, but is shocked when she sees how much he has aged. Elsewhere, Lily Sato acting on orders from Section 31 is about to sabotage the Pleroma.
The Artwork
Megan Levens continues to do some truly awesome work for this book. I loved the panels showing us the reunion between Dr. Crusher and her son Wesley who is now an agent of Aegis. I also loved the panel toward the close of the book where we see a Bird of Prey smashing through the Pleroma.
Overall
Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing continue to give us an entertaining story with Pleroma. Indeed the appearance of Lore toward the end throws out an interesting conflict that will see an A.I. in Lore go up against some gods. I look forward to seeing how the various gods cope with the pure evil that is Data’s brother Lore.
