Synopsis: A dark and shocking figure from the future emerges, presenting a new yet disturbingly familiar threat to the team. Together they must stand fast against the tide of evil that is about to be unleashed — or else Doom will sweep across the entire galaxy!

The Story

While keeping an eye on Dr. Xander Ibal and his work on a dangerous new satellite, Space Ghost, Jan, and Jace are caught off guard by a shocking arrival—a future version of Space Ghost known as Space Spector. Traveling back in time, Space Spector is determined to stop the satellite’s launch and warns the team of the terrible events that lie ahead.

Artwork

Jonathan Lau delivers solid artwork in this issue. I really liked the character design for Space Spector and how his look subtly differs from Space Ghost’s. The final pages stood out the most for me, especially the moment when Space Spector saves Jan from falling to her death. As he catches up to her, he issues a warning—but before he can finish, the device that pulled him back through time begins dragging him away again. Because of this, Jan only hears part of his message. The letterer uses a clever visual trick, fading out Space Spector’s dialogue to show how much of his warning is lost.

Overall

This new story arc launches with a fantastic start as a future version of Space Ghost, known as Space Spector, arrives with a dire warning for our heroes. I really liked how our Space Ghost was initially skeptical of Space Spector, adding an interesting dynamic to their interaction. The brief banter between Space Ghost and the kids was also a nice touch, showing how their relationship has evolved since the first issue.

Overall, it’s a strong start to the new story, ending on a great cliffhanger that will keep us all guessing until the next installment.
