Synopsis: This month on My Date With Monsters. Kitchen gunfire claims the life of a refrigerator. A fox woman guiding the way, probably. Machi on a date…maybe? And Risa and Croak at a secret government installation devoted to making her fall in love with the perfect man in order to save the whole world – which would already be pretty dang whacked, but now there’s an actual nightmare on the loose and blood in the halls. Ain’t love grand?

The Story

Picking up from the last issue. Chub has attacked the government training complex where soldiers are being trained to seduce Risa. Meanwhile, Croak has returned from his visit to the Fox Lady and tells Risa that Chub is at the Government Complex. But before Croak can get all his news out. General Yamada bursts through the door and attacks him. Thankfully, Risa is able to get Yamada to stand down before he does too much damage to Croak. However, the same can’t be said for Risa’s fridge. Once things get straightened out Risa, Croak, and Yamada head over to the Government complex to try and save as many people as they can. But when they arrive it’s total carnage.

Elsewhere, Machi is out on her first date and is amazed to find how easy it is and wonders why her mother has so much trouble.

Artwork

Andy MacDonald goes all out in this issue as he gets to draw some truly gruesome stuff. But the most fun image is of General Yamada with a load of monstrous fingers trying to get down his throat. This image only gets weirder when we see Croak sucking the fingers up from Yamada’s mouth. This is made even weirder when Risa comments on it.

Overall

A really funny issue with some truly sick humor. Moreover, the banter between Risa, Yamada, and Croak is quite funny. Especially when Yamada has the realization that Croak is more dangerous than the Mares. Overall. This was great fun.
