Nicky wrestles with a secret she's been keeping from Mia

Synopsis: In Disclosure Nicky wrestles with a secret she’s been keeping from Mia, she teams up with Evan, who makes a major discovery about his former boss. Elsewhere, Althea attempts to pull off a surprise 25th-anniversary party for Harmony Dumpling against her mother’s wishes, and Ryan begins to question what Sebastian may be hiding from him.

The Story

Picking up from where last week left off. Nicky has learned about a prophecy in which Mia will go totally crazy and potentially destroy everything. To that end Nicky has avoided telling Nicky about the prophecy and is debating when and how to do so.

Meanwhile, Evan who has been watching his former boss learns that she has been working with Tan and the arrival of a person of interest to Tan offers up an interesting opportunity for Nicky. As he has a bunch of information on Tan’s plans as well as the plans of other Multi Billionaires from around the world.

The Acting

Josh Dean puts in a fun guest performance as Fitz Ronson who happens to have a load of information about Tan and other wealthy people that have plans for the future that may not be in the best interests of the rest of humanity.

We also get a solid performance from Vanessa Yao as Mia who seems to be starting to feel a part of the Shen family. However, that is ruined in her scene with Zhilan (Yvonne Chapman) who tells her about the prophecy that Nicky has been keeping from her.

This was a pretty solid episode, which builds nicely onto some of the stuff that we learned in last week’s episode while also providing some solid character development for Mia. We get a flashback scene near the start where we see Zhilan have a chance meeting with The Alchemist who tells her about Mia.

We get some great fight choreography as always as well as some fun family scenes as the Shen family come together to celebrate their restaurant and the community that helped them build it.
